We are proud to announce that Blancco is one of the first companies to have been awarded the London Stock Exchange (LSE) Green Economy Mark. What is the Green Economy Mark?

Launched on October 11, 2019, the Mark was created to recognize companies with products and services that have a positive environmental impact. Regardless of industry classification, any company that meets or exceeds the 50 percent revenue requirement is eligible to receive this endorsement.

Blancco solutions allow data storage devices to be securely erased and reused, rather than added to an ever-growing stream of hazardous e-waste. Often, these devices are physically destroyed to prevent sensitive data from being recovered and used for malicious purposes.

Blancco eliminates the need for physical destruction and gives these drives a new lease on life. Our solutions securely overwrite the sensitive data they contain while also providing a tamper-proof and audit-ready erasure report. Then the drive can be reused, resold, returned at the end of its lease or donated to a worthy cause.

The LSE’s Green Economy Mark also provides visibility for investors who are increasingly concerned with the way companies impact the global environment. Even though environmentalism is a hot button issue, many organizations only consider it as an afterthought, if at all. However, trends indicate that this could have negative long-term effects in a world increasingly concerned with corporate social responsibility.

Investors Are Taking Notice

A 2018 report from the Global Sustainable Investment Alliance discusses one part of this global trend. The report indicates that investors are actively considering a company’s sustainability practices (or lack thereof) when adding to their asset portfolios. This has manifested itself in the form of double-digit increases in the amount of capital invested in these assets compared to 2016.

Receiving the Green Economy Mark is the latest in a long line of other honors and endorsements bestowed upon Blancco in recent years. Other recent recognitions include Amazon’s “Advanced Technology Partner Status” and National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) certification.
