Many organizations are using deletion, reformatting and other techniques in an attempt to remove sensitive data; however, these methods often don’t achieve data sanitization, allowing room for a potential security breach. Blancco is committed to developing products that keep organizations compliant and sensitive data protected. We’re proud to announce that we have received a new data erasure certification from the National Organization for the Standardization and Certification of Excellence in Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunications (NYCE) in Mexico.

The main objective of the NYCE is to provide third-party certification to standardize and evaluate the conformity of products, processes and services with national or international standards through a series of transparent, reliable tests. If the result is positive, a valid certificate of conformity is awarded. This certification provides product reliability, builds consumer confidences and demonstrates transparency to privacy authorities. Blancco’s new NYCE certification adds to the 12+ existing certifications and approvals we already maintain with organizations such as DIPCOG, TUV SUD and NATO.

What does this certification mean to organizations?

It means Blancco software is approved and certified in accordance with Mexican standards for development. As a result, Blancco’s methods of erasure have been evaluated and deemed to be in compliance with the criteria established by the INAI Guide to secure data deletion.*

The INIAI Guide is a landmark piece of legislation that was established in Mexico on July 14, 2016. It establishes standards for the effective deletion of personal data from documents, files or devices in the public and private sectors. This process ends with our product being registered in the data protection authority register of certifications.

Our customers in Mexico and around the world benefit from having tools that have been independently verified and tested to be compliant with national and global data deletion standards, and they count on Blancco to provide the most up-to-date knowledge in data erasure best practices.
