Matt Jones Chief Executive Officer

Matt Jones Chief Executive Officer

Matt has broad experience with both private equity-backed and public companies. Specializing in the technology sector, Matt is a recognized leader with a successful track record of developing and overseeing the execution of growth strategies for companies in security, storage, and communications.

Matt was most recently CEO of E8 Security, a pioneer in behavioral intelligence and cybersecurity based in the USA. Prior to joining E8 Security, Matt held positions at InterAct, a leading cloud-based software provider for public safety (where he was executive chairman), CloudShield Technologies, a provider of cybersecurity solutions (where he was CEO), and Allocity, a software company concentrating on storage management.

Matt led the transformation and growth at both E8 Security and CloudShield into leading cybersecurity software companies focused on the enterprise market, increasing revenue, building out teams to scale, and successfully leading global market expansion. He was instrumental in the sale of CloudShield to SAIC and Allocity to EMC. Matt has also held senior executive roles at Excite@Home, Sprint, and AT&T.

Adam Moloney Chief Financial Officer

Adam Moloney Chief Financial Officer

Adam was chief financial officer of AIM-quoted Eckoh plc (“Eckoh”), a leading provider of customer service and secure payment technology solutions for contact centers until 2017. He had been with Eckoh since 2003 and was appointed chief financial officer in 2005. During Adam’s time there, he managed the negotiation and integration of various significant acquisitions in the UK and US, as well as the opening of a US subsidiary. Prior to Eckoh, Adam held senior positions in the finance functions of a number of privately owned companies.

Jon Mellon President of Global Sales, Marketing and Field Operations

A seasoned executive with more than two decades of sales leadership, Jon joined Blancco in 2022 to spearhead sales strategies that strengthen Blancco’s presence worldwide. He is responsible for directing the company’s sales, marketing, and field operations activities across the globe, and has a particular emphasis on modernizing Blancco’s channel program within highly regulated industries—where data protection is especially critical.

Jon’s focus on talent development, technology value, and sales innovation have positioned him as a leader in cultivating top-performing teams and accelerating company growth. His accomplishments include transforming Sonatype’s go-to-market activities within the DevOps and application security markets, as well as building and scaling a multi-billion-dollar business unit at NetApp—a global data storage and management enterprise that doubled in size during Jon’s 12 years of leading sales. He’s also held executive roles at Copan Systems and Akamai Technologies.

Russ Ernst Chief Technology Officer

Russ Ernst Chief Technology Officer

As chief technology officer at Blancco Technology Group, Russ Ernst is responsible for defining, driving, and executing product strategy across the entire Blancco data erasure, device diagnostics, and mobile lifecycle solutions suite. Russ is a regular speaker at IT and data security industry conferences, where he addresses data lifecycle management, end-of-life IT management, and data sanitization best practices. He also provides expertise on how organizations can reach their sustainability goals and fuel the circular economy by harnessing secure disposal processes.

With over twenty years of experience managing ITAD and enterprise technology product development, Russ is regularly sought for comment. You can find his insights in Recycling Today, Security Boulevard, Data Center Knowledge, Business Insider, and The Fast Mode, and in the upcoming book, Net Zeros and Ones: How Data Erasure Promotes Sustainability, Privacy, and Security.

Sarah Smith Senior Vice President of Human Resources

As senior vice president of human resources, Sarah leads global HR strategy and corporate culture initiatives for Blancco’s workforce of over 300 people across four continents. She first joined Blancco as director of human resources in January 2019 after more than 15 years’ experience managing and leading HR teams across several technology and software organizations. Before Blancco, she led human resources for the UK and EMEA at Domino Printing and has also held senior HR positions at TWI and ARM Ltd. Sarah’s expertise is in building organizations—in some cases from only a handful of employees to a workforce of thousands. Her experience also shows a track record of growing and developing HR teams and creating consistency across global businesses.

Rob Woodward Board Chair & Chair of Nomination Committee

Rob joined the Board in June 2013 and became Chair in March 2017. He has significant experience in the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) industry, having spent 11 years as Chief Executive of STV Group plc. He has also been Commercial Director of Channel 4 Television, a Managing Director with UBS Corporate Finance and the lead partner for Deloitte’s TMT industry Group in Europe. Rob is also Chair of Ebiquity plc and the UK’s Met Office.

Dr Frank Blin CBE Independent Non-executive Director, Chair of Audit Committee

Dr Frank Blin CBE Independent Non-executive Director, Chair of Audit Committee

Frank joined the Board in December 2014. He holds a number of directorships with private equity backed companies in the healthcare, food and drink and property sectors. He was with PwC for 38 years where he was a board member, head of its regional practice and corporate recovery partner. He was awarded a CBE in 2002 for services to the financial services sector.

Catherine Michel Independent Non-executive Director

Catherine joined the board in January 2020. She is currently Chief Technology Officer (‘CTO’) for life-saving technology company Halma plc (‘Halma’), where she has global responsibility for the group’s data and technology strategy. She is also a member of Halma’s Executive Management Board. Previously, Catherine was CTO for Sigma Systems following its acquisition of Tribold Limited in 2013, a business she founded and, as CTO, was principal architect of the company’s products and solutions portfolio. She also serves on the UK5G Advisory board and was formerly on the TM Forum Executive Committee. She has won a number of industry accolades including ‘CTO of the Year’ at Digital Transformation World, the leading ‘Woman in Telecoms’ at the World Communications Awards and twice named one of the ‘Top Most Powerful People in the Telecoms Industry’ by Global Telecoms Business.

Tom Skelton Independent Non-executive Director, Chair of Remuneration Committee

Tom joined the Board in October 2015. He recently retired after more than 20 years in Chief Executive Officer roles for several leading US healthcare technology firms specialising in workflow automation, standards-based information sharing and data and analytics. Most recently he was CEO of privately owned Surescripts LLC, a US based clinical information network processing over 20 billion transactions annually. Prior to that he was CEO for Foundation Radiology Group and Misys Healthcare Systems. Tom is currently Chair of Clearstar LLC and has also served on the boards of Misys Plc and Micro Focus International plc.
